He died in 1961 in VA hospital in Reno, according to the Reno Evenging Gazette December 27, 1961 Page 10 "ILLNESS CLAIMS RENO MECHANIC Lawrence F. Blankenship, a mechanic, died in a Reno hospital Saturday after a lengthy illness. He was born in Hermleigh, Tex., Aug. 20, 1908 and was a veteran of World War II. The body was accompanied to the Mayfield Funeral Hime in Hawthorne where funeral services will be held Thursay at 1 p.m. Burial will be in the Hawthorne Cemetery, Ross-burke co., is in charge of local arrangements." Can anyone help me find out if he was actually living and working in Reno, or down in Hawthorne? Also, can anyone help me find out if there were any survivors or spouse? I have not had any luck so far contacting the funeral companies. I basically have only the above obit. and a sketchy death certificate to go on to learn about his life in Nevada.
