Nevada State Journal Thur. July 6, 1911 Page 3, Col. 1 Dr. Otis Jacobs Answers Call Passes Away in San Francisco After Suffering From Nervous Breakdown Dr. J. Otis Jacobs of Reno, who went to San Francisco several weeks ago on the verge of a nervous breakdown, died yesterday morning in the bay city. On his arrival in San Francisco, Dr. Jacobs entered a hospital there, but shortly afterwards was removed to the home of a brother in order that he could be given every attention necessary. However, his condition had become so weakened that he failed to respond to the expert treatment secured, and succumbed to the inevitable. For several years Dr. Jacobs was a resident of Reno and during that time conducted a veterinary hospital here. He met with an accident several months ago and following suffered a nervous breakdown which ultimately caused death. Dr. Jacobs was a native of San Francisco, aged 37 years, 7 months, 12 days. He is survived by a widow, father, three brothers, and two sisters. He was a member of Reno lodge, No. 13, Free and Accepted Masons, Reno Consolatory and A. and A. Scottish Rite. The remains will arrive from San Francisco Friday morning and will be escorted to the Masonic Temple. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock and will be under the auspices of the Reno lodge of Masons. The interment will be in the Masonic Cemetery. Marcena NM
