If your uncle may have been married in Reno, you may want to check with the County Recorder (marriage division) phone # (775) 328-3660, which is across the courtyard in the same complex. The recorder's office has a roomful of computers for public use and the records are open to the public(and the clerks are very helpful). The complex is located about 2 miles northeast of the (downtown) casino area and east of the Univ. of Reno Nevada(UNR). Also the County Library has the newspaper on film from 1870 into the 1990's, so if you find his death date, you would probably find his obit in the newpaper film. The main Library is about 3 blocks south of the casino area on Center Street & E. Liberty Street. Hope this gives you some bearings on where the offices are located. Hazel Rushing

Unfortunately, I've just shifted from one HW system to another so I currently can't forward it to you myself. However, what it is, is an extract from the indicated paper on the indicated date that reads: " MARRIAGE LICENSES ISSUED ..................William M. Hitsman, 41, Reno, and Minnie Donahue, Reno: ..............." (the .......are for other couples in the extract). I haven't found any additional DONAHUE info since getting Cal's input. However, you might want to pursue the line based on info I've put together on William; specifically he was in Sacramento in 1946 and died in San Joaquin county in 1947. I also found his SS# which could be a means of getting more info on his wife depending on what that record contains (I have not ordered the record myself from SSS). Pretty much all I have on the two is posted at the WorldConnect URL: <http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=greengiant-2&id=I125> Because my paper filing system is somewhat disjointed, I try to post just about all the "non-standard" info I have come up with in the Notes for each individual. Hope the above is of use. Good hunting Vern Dander BTW, if you do make the William to Minnie connection and subsequently post it to the Web, would like to know so I can cross-reference from my DB to yours.
