After working several places for the Burlington railroad, he went to Crete, NE in 1911, where he served as cashier in the depot. While in Crete, he met and married Miss Agnes Walkin Apr. 15th, 1913. They moved to Fallon, Nevada, where he filled the position of cashier for the Southern Pacific Railroad. Here they made their home for four years and here their little daughter, Marjory, was born. About a year later they moved to Keeler, Calif., where they lived at the time of his death, which occured after a brief illness of typhoid fever. During the ministry of Bro. Darby, about 1907, Ross was converted and joined the Methodist Church of which he has been a loyal and sincere member. Besides more distant relatives and friends, he leaves a wife and daughter, father and mother, three sisters, two brothers. He was 25 years 1 month and 22 days old, hav! ing died at his home last Thursday, Aug. 1st, 1918. Mr. Sanburn's mother, who had been called to the bedside of her sick boy, was detained by a telegram in Ogden, Utah, and returned with the body. Funeral services were held in the Methodist Church at Friend and conducted by Rev. C. L. Myers, pastor and interment was in the Andrew Cemetery Aug. 6, 1918. Mother Sanburn was taken off the train at Ogden, Utah, by railroad officials, and taken to a hotel, where a lady employed by the railroad was in constant attendance until by paging every train coming from Calif., the one carrying her son's body, and his wife and daughter, were located. (Ross is my great uncle. I have compiled the genealogy of these Sanburns. Drop me a line if you'd like to exchange information.)
