Wigbert Leinweber officiating. Burial will be in Sawtelle Veterans Cemetery in Los Angeles. He died Thursday in a local hospital. Born in Feb. 24, 1901, in Washington, he had been a motel clerk. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include widow Ina; son D. W. Hanham of California; daughter Wilma Mathews of Minden, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was a sstore owner,maybe a butcher, lived in Northbrook, Il. died about 1937, of some brain tumor ,married to Marie DesLauries ,her family had lived in Woodale,Il. later. I'm not sure that his first name was Herbert it may have been George?????Thanks for any info

I just know that it was in Reno in the 1920's to mid 1940's. My grandfather was a backroom fighter there. Alot of illegal happening took place at Blackie's Place. Back room fights, casino, card games, you name it, it took place in the back room. Unfortunally, my grandfather is no long alive to ask what street and such as that. I know his death cert. listed a p.o. box in Hawthonre, but one obit. described him as "Reno Mechanic". So, who knows? I will just keep hunting ( or begging help from Nevada locals like yourself).
