Pete, at the age of 70 and after a long illness, died Thursday, November 8, 1979, in a local hospital. He loved Searchlight and had been active in community affairs, having served two terms on the Searchlight Planning Board and several years on the Searchlight Community Church Board. One of his greatest wishes was to see the building of the first church in Searchlight. Pete was born May 10, 1909 in New York, and was an aircraft manufacturing machinist. He is survived by his wife Hazel; sons, Warren Jr. of Laguna Hills, California, and Gary of Norco, California; daughters, Lillian Ballard of Newport Beach, California, and Patricia Neal of Norco, California; stepsons, James Goodlett of Cerritos, California, John Goodlett of Redondo Beach, California and Hugh Goodlett of Riverside, California; brother Clifton of Franklinville, New Jersey; and eleven grandchildren. Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. at the Searchlight Cemetery. C. Dell Porter, a close friend and previous pastor of the Community Church officiated.
