He lived in Clark County - Apple Valley in the late 1950's thru the late 1970's. He was married to Martha Blair, and had three children - Allen, Marty Lee and Jimmy. His Mother's name (my aunt) was known as Jean Cook(e). She lived until 1975 at 501 Harvard Ave. Las Vegas. William died in the early 1980's, but I haven't been able to find out anything else. Does anyone know of any other online data sources I could check up on? I've also tried the passenger lists for immigrants in to the US in the few years previous with no luck. Will was born in 1879 and so was only 33 when he died. The letter also mentions a mutual friend (Mr Lloyd) who was travelling back to England the following year, 1913, had offered to return some of Will's personal effects (his violin in particular). In 1912 she lived at 1113 11th Street, E.Las Vegas, Clark County. I am in possession of a letter written by this lady to my great-Uncle about his younger brother William Edward Wood ("Will"). Will died at her house in 1912 and the family arranged his burial. The letter was written to his family by I.MacDonald about his last few weeks and I was hoping that the MacDonald may have some more "memories" of Will that I could include in my family research project. He was 60 years of age. Mr. EMDE was born June 27, 1940 in Flushing, Queens, NY; one of three sons of Robert and Evelyn JOHNSON EMDE. He was schooled in NY, and was a member of the NYPD until relocating to Las Vegas and joining the LVPD. He was an active Board member of the LVPPA representing the Detective Bureau until his retirement as a Senior Grade Detective of the Larceny Detail. Mr. Emde is survived by two children, Dawn EMDE of Las Vegas and Christopher EMDE of Overton; two adopted children, Joanne COX and Jeanne EMDE of Las Vegas; two step children, Georgann COOK of Overton and Wayne MANTOOTH of Norwalk, Calif.; two brothers Gerard (Eileen) and Thomas (Ann) of Long Island, NY, six grandchildren. Dear Subscribers, I'm searching for May and Davila Johnson. May Johnson is the mother of Davila. They both lived in Las Vegas in the 1960s. May Johnson gave birth to a boy named Joseph in October or November, 1961, in a Las Vegas hospital. What makes this search so difficult is that both females probably have not used the name Johnson is decades. If someone out there knows how to obtain the birth certificate of that boy, I would know who May identified as the boy's father on that birth certificate.
