METZ Dies At Hospital Here Article Text: J. METZ, a local watchmaker and jeweler, at Mineral County Hospital at nine o'clock Thursday night (23 Jan) following a brief attack of double pneumonia. The deceased had been ill only two days when friends found him Thursday afternoon in his cabin near the Lodi Hotel. According to intimate friends, METZ was 63 years of age and was born in Los Angeles. He had lived in Nevada for a number of years and since coming to Hawthorne had gained a wide acquaintance.
