SHAW, well known miner and resident of Southern Nevada for many years, died at the Mineral COunty Hospital Friday afternoon. Funeral services were held at St. Philips Mission with interment in Hawthorne Cemetery Monday. Born in Florence, Missouri October 1869, Mr. SHAW had been a resident of Southern Nevada camps fpr many years where he followed his trade of blacksmith. He was employed by the Tonopah Water Works for many years, coming to Hawthorne 7 years ago, where he was employed with several of the contracting firms in the Naval Ammunition Depot. He was one of the first men to take a lease at Camp Ashby where he picked up a lucky piece of ground and sold out before he had the lease fully developed. Being in ill health for the lase few months he was admitted to the Mineral County Hospital here 18 Jul. Death came suddenly last Friday afternoon. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Frank CARROLL of Long Beach, CA.
