Funeral services were held in Winnemucca Tuesday (18 Jan). A native of Candelaria, NV, Mr. MARSHALL was 66 years old. At an early age he became a teamster and his first job was "skinning" an 8 horse team for the U.S. Geological survey. Later he "jerked line" on 20 horse teams over Lucky Boy grade on the flourishing freight line that operated between Hawthorne and Bodie. With the passsing of the horse drawn vehicles, Mr. MARSHALL took up mining and for three years was superintendent for a company operating near Luning. He also conducted a hotel and general store in Luning for several years. Moving to Hawthonre he was employed as a clerk in the old Adams & Miller general store until 1926 when he opened his own store. He sold the business in 1931 and returned to mining. Mr. MARSHALL was an active worker in the Democratic party during his long residence in Mineral County and from 1929 to 1931 served as County Commissioner. Surviving Mr. MARSHALL are his widow Mae J.
