He was born in Genoa, Italy and came to this country before he was 20 years old and immediately made the state of Nevada his home, setteling in Eureka, where he engaged in mining, and then moved to Hawthorne where he made his home until his death with the exception of nine years spent in San Francisco with his daughter, Mrs. Rose KRETZ. After coming to Hawthorne he engaged in the wood business and held contracts with te Carson and Colorado for the furnishing in many thousands of cords of wood for their locomotives while the narrow gauge railroad operated through Hawthorne. He was actively interesed in minng and operated in many of the mining camps in Southern Nevada, after his wood business was stopped by the withdrawl of the railroad. He is survived by three daughters; Mrs. Delia STARKS and Mrs. Ann LARKIN of Oakland, CA and Mrs. Rose KRETZ of San Francisco.
