Death was due to a paralytic stroke and the end came suddenly even though McDONALD had been at the hospital for almost a year. For three days prior to his death he had not been feeling quite as well as usual but showed no signs of being seriously ill. Sunday morning he ate no breakfast and only a light lunch around noon time. He passed the afternoon by sitting on the hospital porch and went to his room about five o'clock in the evening. Shortly after he reached there a heavy thud was heard be the matron and others who rushed to his room and found him lying on the floor. He was placed in bed and only then was it noticed that his intire right side was paralyzed. Medicine was given to him but he continued to grow weaker and the end came about 7:30 in the evening. McDONALD was about 71 years of age. He was brought to the hospital from Mina about a year ago suffering with rheumatism. He had resided at Mina for many years and at one time had seved as night watchman for the town. He was well known throughout the entire county and was held in the highest esteem by all of his associates, who were grieved to learn of his sudden passing. Funeral services were held at the local cemetery Monday afternoon. Sam KELSO delivered the eulogyat the final services and a trie consisting of Mr. Walter McKEOUGH, Cal T. WHITNEY and Frank WEAVER sang a number of hymns. Those acting as pallbearers were Mike DONDERO, Joe MARSHALL, Harry McKAY, and Cal WHITNEY.
