Mrs. HOYT had been in failing health for several months. Mrs. HOYT was born in New Jersey and spent her childhood in that state. Following her marriage to Harold L. HOYT she resided in New Orleans for many years, then in numerous parts of the nation, traveling with Mr. HOYT who spent the better part of his life as a construction inspector for the U.S. Government. When construction of the Naval Ammunition Depot was started in Hawthorne in 1929, Mr. and Mrs. HOYT established residence here, he being a senior inspector of that project. Following the retirement of Mr. HOYT in 1931 the couple moved to New Orleans where they spent a year settling affairs there., returning to Hawthorne 10 years ago to make this community there home. During that time Mrs. HOYT was quite active in community affairs despite her advanced age and was especially active in affairs pertaining to St. Philips Church. Following services at that church Sunday afternoon commital were held at the Hawthorne Cemetery, where interment was made. Serving as pallbearers were Fred F. PARKER, D.M. BUCKINGHAM, Martin G. EVANSEN, Gene FERRETTI, John ANDREWS and W.C. WEST. The only surviving relative is her husband, Harold L.
