MILLS died Friday evening (11 Sep) at the county hospital where he had been a patient following an automobile accident 1 Sep. MILLS received a serious head injury and a badly fractured left leg in the accident, regaining consciousness but for a brief period a few days before his death. His advanced age was a contributing factior in him being able to survive his injuried. According to his own statement, obtained through registration figures, he ws 78 years old. Born in Indiana, MILLS came to Nevada in 1910 and followed the mining game in many camps in this state. Eight years ago he came to Mineral County, spending the greater part of his time in the Aurora District where he had been actively engaged in mining prior to his death. MILLS was injured when the automobile in which he was riding overturned on the main highway several miles from town. With MILLS was Bert LeVEE who is now at the county hosppital recovering from injuries sustained. The men had come to Hawthorne from Aurora that day to vote.
