McGinnis Article Text: Hawthorne - Leslie C. McGINNIS died Thursday (22 Feb 1973) at his home in Hawthorne, he was 75. He was born 29 Dec 1887 in Curlew, IA. He came to Hawthorne in 1942 to work at the Naval Ammunition Depot, where he retired in 1957. He then worked as a custodian for teh Mineral County School District until 1969. He was a Senior Warden of the St. Phillip's Episcopal Church here, past Noble Grand of the Oddfellows Lodge of Hawthorne and was a charter member of the Naval Depots Employes Benefit Association. Survivors include his widow Minnie; sons, Verne of Napa, CA, and Lyle of Medford, OR; 5 granddaughters and one great granddaughter; brother, Cecil of Algona, IA; sister Nellie STEPHENSON of Madrid, IA. A funeral is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Sunday (25 Feb 1973) in the Hawthorne Funeral Home.
