CAMP, veteran mining man of this county, who died the previous day at the county hospital, where he had been a patient since November. He was seventy-three years of age. CAMP had been in failing health since early 1938 and spent several months that year in the county hospital. Burial was in the Hawthorne Cemetery following services conducted Rev. J.R. KITTENGER at graveside. A native of Spartonburg, SC, CAMP came to NV in 1902 and had lived in this state since. He was in Rawhide during the boom days of that camp and acquired considerable mining property which he actively developed until two years ago, when he established a little homestead for himself on the West shore of Walker Lake, 20 miles North of Hawthorne. He was widely known throughout Mineral County. A sister, who lives in Texas is the only known surviving relative. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ NV-Old-News ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ NewspaperAbstracts.com - Finding our ancestors in the news!
