SAPP about two miles Spouth of the point where the boat was launched by the fisherman when they attempted to cross the lake at SAPP'S place. The body of Arthur PARR was found Sunday, May 29th and buried in the Hawthorne Cemetery on Decoration Day (now known as Memorial Day) 31 May 1932. The two men had been on the East shore of the lake to bring back a load of fish, but a severe wind storm arose which delayed their return. SAPP drove to their fish box and advised them to return with him in the car and let the fish go until the next day, but the insisted that they would be alright and wouldn't attempt the trip across the lake until the wind subsided. When they failed to put in an appearance the next day, Mr. SAPP investigated and found the boat overturned. The first body (Arthur PARR) was washed up by the high wind that occurred during the night of May 29th and was found the next day by SAPP, who has kept up a diligent search for the bodies ever sonce the accident. Coroner E.M. FERREL went to the scene where the body was found yesterday, and will remove it to Hawthorne, where burial will take place. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ NV-Old-News ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ NewspaperAbstracts.com - Finding our ancestors in the news!
