CONNER. She was born in Cornwall, England in the early part of 1816 (born 9 Jun 1816), and left this life 24 Jul 1887. Had she been spared a few days longer the couple would have celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary. Her passing away was tranquel and hopeful. In her death her husband has lost an exemplary wife and her children a mother whose pious example showed them how to lead blameless lives. The cortege which escorted the remains to the A.O.U.W. Cemetery (now known as Hawthorne Cemetery), the place of sepulture, was large. The family of the deceased lady has the sympathy of this community in their bereavement. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ NV-Old-News ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ NewspaperAbstracts.com - Finding our ancestors in the news! WARD, as administrator of the estate of the late Gus PETERSON, against M.L. (Margaret) DANIELS were submitted to District Judge L.O. HAWKINS of Winnemucca in the Washow court yesterday. The suit relates to $4,508.00 in checks received by Mrs. DANIELS and bearing the alleged signature of PETERSON, who died at Hawthorne 11 Jun 1927. The case has been before the court twice, having gone to the Supreme Court once. Mrs. DANIELS received payment on the checks at the Inyo County Bank in Bishop, CA and there was a subsequent question raised as to their validity. Handwriting experts and many witnesses were called in the case, including S.T. (Samuel)KELSO, County Clerk of Mineral County and Joe MARSHALL and Dr. SMITH of Hawthorne. WARD, who is contending that the money left by PETERSON should have gone to his sisters, is District Attorney of Mineral County. George GREEN is representing Mrs. DANIELS and H.R. COOKE represents WARD as public administrator. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ NV-Old-News ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ NewspaperAbstracts.com - Finding our ancestors in the news! TM http://www.NewspaperAbstracts.com
