A resident of Hawthorne for a number of years, Mr. LANE was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin 3 Sep 1892. Soon afterwards he moved to North Dakota where he lived as a youth and attended the North Dakota Agricultural College. He was a veteran of World War One. He had been active in ranch worl in Wyoming and Nevada until his recent illness. He is survived by his widow, Mabel L. LANE; son Floyd HOEFER, both of Hawthorne; two daughters, Mrs. Virginis FREED of Reno, Mrs. Alice MAESTRETTI of Sparks,; two uncles, William and Fred GEIL of Oregon, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Mrs. LAMBERSON had been ill for a short time before her death. Mrs. LAMBERSON had lived in Hawthorne the past 11 years, coming here with her husband from Oregon, where she had spent most of her life. She was born in Sacramento, CA. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the First Baptist Church in Hawthorne, and burial was in the local cemetery. The Rev. E.E. WILEY conducted the services at the chursh and graveside. Surviving are Joseph L. LAMBERSON, her husband of Hawthorne; two daughters, Mrs. Ramona ALGER of Hawthorne, Mrs. Venola (Zenola) PRESLEY of Sweet Home, Oregon; three sons Joseph and Ellis LAMBERSON, both of Reno and Raymond LAMBERSON of Washington D.C.; also six grandchildren. Funeral services will be arranged following the arrival of Mr. and Mrs. Ed REGAN from Burlingame, CA. Mrs. REGAN, a niece, is the only immediate living relative of deceased. Jimmie GREENE who had been KNOPF'S closest companion in recent years arrived from Carson City and is looking after the ranch property. W.H. GREENE, father of Jimmie and a close friend of KNOPF'S for many years arrived from Carson City today to assist in the funeral arrangements. Raised in California where he became an expert orchardist KNOPF responded to the mining boom when Tonopah was a young and teeming camp.
