FIELDEN disappeared last December and exhaustive searches were made for many miles in this locality but no trace of the missing man could be found. Two boys, Robert BRANDON and Charles FOOTE, found the body in a ravine while hiking to the "H" on MOunty Grant slope Sunday and officers were notified emmediately. It was determined that the body was covered with snow when the search was conducted last year. A coroner's jury consisting of Fred WALLACE, William ASHBURN and Bert LONGLEY returned a verdict that death was due to natural causes resulting from exposure. The remains were brought to Hawthorne and buried in the local cemetery Tuesday. FIELDEN was a native of New York state. He came to Nevada from California in 1926 and worked as a miner for several years. Moving to Hawthorne in 1928 he worked at odd jobs in this locality and for a time served as watchman for the Hawthorne water system supply line in Cory Canyon. He is survived by a son who lives in Kenmore, New York and it is believed that a sister may be living in Michigan, officers said. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ NV-Old-News ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ NewspaperAbstracts.com - Finding our ancestors in the news!
