NEASHAM Is Found Dying Near Asylum From Self-Inflicted Wound Article Text: While in a dying condition as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound through the roof of his mouth, William C. NEASHAM, a prosperous rancher of Sparks, but who has a home at Virginia and Sixth Streets in Reno was discovered shortly before noon by passers-by who summoned medical assistance, but NEASHAM died before help arrived. No cause for the suicide has yet become known, except it is said that recently he appeared not to be in his right mind. NEASHAM returned fro a visit to the San Francisco exposition a few days ago and has been aparently in the best of spirits. During the morning he visited the store of his brother-in -law Thomas CURNOW, 223 North Virginia Street and chatted a short time with several acquaintances. Shortly before noon he was found lying in along the road leading from the gravel pit near the Southern Pacific tracks to the asylum. The discovery was made by Charles BROWN and Clyde RUDOLPH who live at the Clarendon Hotel and a man named LaLONDE of Sparks. NEASHAM was still living but expired before medical assistance could arrive. He had used a .32 calibar revolver(gruesome details). Acting coroner UNSWORTH was summoned and after examining the body and the scene had the remains conveyed to the undertaking parlors of Perkins and Gulling. An inquest will be held tomorrow. NEASHAM was 48 years of age and a member of the I.O.O.F.. He is survived by his widow Mrs. Matilda NEASHAM, and several children; Edward, William, Leslie, Harold, Aubrey and Gerald NEASHAM and Mrs. P.E. RAYMOND of Reno. He was the son of Mrs. Katherine MEASHAM of Fort Bidwell, CA. HARRY, 60, famous for years in Southern Nevada as "Silk Hat Harry" died suddenly of a heart attack here today. HARRY dropped unconscious while working in the annex of the Mina Hotel. He regained consciousness for a few moments, but died shortly after. He came to Mina from CA in 1907. For several years he conducted a blacksmith's shop, and later became an employee of the county, working with a road crew. Mrs. BRANNAN was stricken sriously ill late Friday night and was taken to the hospital on Saturday morning. Mrs. BRANNAN who had made her home in Hawthorne since 1942 with her daughter, Mrs. Harvey GORDON and family was a native of Indiana and spent most of her life in the midwest. Her husband died a number of years ago and in 1942 Mrs. BRANNAN moved to Devil's Lake, North Dakota to reside at the GORDON home in Hawthorne. In addition to her daughter Mrs. GORDON, Mrs. BRANNAN is survived by a son Francis BRANNAN of Los Banos, CA who with his wife came to Hawthorne to attend the funeral of his mother. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five of her seven children. MORRIS, age 57, died suddenly Minday afternoon at his place of residence, 365 D. Street in Hawthorne. Mr. MORRIS had come to Hawthorne only the previous day from Bremerton, Washington where he had been employed by the Navy. He moved into the D Street residence, owned by a friend, and the following morning complained to a neighbor, Mrs. William HART that he felt ill. Mondaty evening when Mr. HART returned from work Mrs. HART suggested that he check as to the condition of Mr. MORRIS and it was then that he was found dead. Local doctors were summined and they attributed death to natural causes estimating that Mr. MORRIS had been dead three or four hours when found by Mr. HART. Also summined were district attorney L.E. BLAISDEL, sheriff, Al JENSEN and coroner, C.M. MITCHELL. Following an investigation of authorities and the examinatin by the doctors it was decided that an inquest would not be necessary.
