The dealership was originally located in Baddeck and at a later date was moved to Glace Bay. "God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you, and whispered "Come to Me". With tearful eyes we watched you, we watched you fade away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands now rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best." Sandra (MacAdam) Farr Born: April 12th, 1952 Passed on: August 12th, 2013 On Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, we lost our sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Sandra. She succumbed to a cancer that ravaged her body but not her soul. To her last breath, she was determined to live and die the way she wanted. Sandra was born April 12, 1952, to the late Sarah (Wrathall) and Francis MacAdam. She was the second child in a brood of seven. She was a proud Mira Roader and even prouder Cape Bretoner. Her career was spent working at the Sterile Supplies Unit (SPD) at Sydney City Hospital and retiring from New Waterford Hospital in 2010. There wasn't a knitting pattern that could stump her or a pattern that she couldn't create. The last few years, travel was her passion and prepping for trips kept her focused and determined. We always said "she's one tough nugget". Our hearts are broken. She will be sadly missed, especially her unique sense of humour. Left behind are her sons, Allen (Kim) and Jason Brace; daughter, Pamela; grandchildren, Bianca, Kayla, Evan, Jayden and Jillian and great-grandchild, Joey; sisters, Frances (Bo) Leterte, Susan (Al) Swartz, Helen (Clem) MacPhee, Cheryl (Billy) Cann; brothers, Gordon (Donna) MacAdam, Carl (Su) MacAdam; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Roland Farr and her parents. A special thank you to Jessie Butts, RN, at the medical day clinic in Glace Bay Hospital. Susan and Tracey at Dr. Cohen's office, Dr. R. Cohen, Dr. D. MacDonald, Halifax, Palliative Care, VON, and cancer clinics in Sydney and Halifax. Cremation has taken place (and yes, aiming to use your crock pot Sandra!). Sandra has requested, as her final resting place, her parents' gravesite, with only her immediate family in attendance. There will be a gathering held at the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney today (Wednesday) from 7-9 p.m. No flowers please. Donations to Palliative Care Cape Breton or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Online condolences may be sent to our web page at www.chantfuneralhome.com.
