MacNeil (Gillis) - 70 yrs Curtis Jason Fielding - 24 yrs Eileen Josephine Lavin Passed in: Main-a-Dieu Passed on: August 25th, 2013 It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of Eileen Lavin on Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Mom enjoyed spending time and shopping with her sisters Delores and Liz. She also liked to keep in touch with family using Skype. While working in the office at National Sea Products, she made many friends. She is survived by children, Darren (Denise), Main-a-Dieu, Lisa, Roanoke, Va., Robert (Leslee), Brandon, Man., Wade, Sydney; sisters, Catherine Backwell, Oshawa, Ont., Henora Gibbon, Ottawa, Ont., Lucy Selazzo (Pat), Sydney, Elizabeth Campbell, Main-a-Dieu, N.S., Delores Coles, Sydney, Loretta Parsons (John), Louisbourg, N.S., Naisha Richards (Jackie), Sydney, N.S., Tish Giacomini, Sydney; brothers, Bud Campbell, Louisbourg, Elias Campbell (Charlotte), Main-a-Dieu, Angus Campbell (Lillian) Louisbourg. She was a loving grandmother to Tyler, Stephanie, Colton, Brooke, Brady, and Alyssa. Also great-grandchild Lauryn. Marie (Bonaparte) Boudreau Passed in: Dartmouth Passed on: August 27th, 2013 Formerly of Sydney, Marie passed away peacefully at Dartmouth General Hospital on Aug. 27, 2013. The loving wife of Louis, (deceased) and mother to Walter, Ottawa, Kevin (Janet), Brent and Michelle (John). Grandmother to Lindsay and James Ryan. She leaves her brothers, John and Michael. She was predeceased by brother, Seward. Marie worked for Maritime Tel & Tel, Co-op Food Services and Crowell's in Sydney. N.S. A dear friend to all, she will be fondly remembered for her kindness and generosity to those less fortunate. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no formal service. Rayelene Mackley Born In: Sydney Passed on: August 26th, 2013 It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rayelene Gerhart Mackley of Sydney, N.S. on Monday, Aug. 26, 2013 at the age of 71. Born in Sydney, Rayelene was a daughter of the late Raymond and Mamie (Bryden) Mackley. Rayelene graduated from St. Rita’s School of Nursing as an RN in 1963. An accomplished nurse, she worked in surgical and intensive care units for the duration of her career. Rayelene began her career as a surgical supervisor at Kaiser Hospital in Oakland, California where she worked for almost a decade. She then continued her work at St. Rita’s Hospital in Sydney. Rayelene worked in ICU as both head nurse and nurse until her retirement and was also active in her local community as a CPR instructor for many years. In May 2013, Rayelene was proud to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of her graduation from St. Rita’s School of Nursing. Rayelene was predeceased by her parents; sisters, Caroline (Henry) Stockley, Dorothy (Larry) Dobranski, Helen (John) Goucher, Jean (Charlie) McInnis; brothers, Reginald (Claire) Mackley and Raymond Mackley, in infancy. She is survived by her twin sister, Pauline (Pius) Campbell, Jamesville, N.S. (formerly of Sydney), sister, Mildred (the late Clinton) MacNeil and brother John (Genevieve) Mackley, both of Sydney. A favourite aunt, Rayelene will be greatly missed by her numerous nieces and nephews. Wake to take place at St. Columba Parish Centre, Iona, N.S. on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013 from 4-9 p.m. Liturgy of Christian burial will be celebrated by Fr. Paul Abbass on Monday, Sept. 2, 2013 at 11 a.m., St. Columba Church, Iona. Burial will follow in McKinnon Harbour Cemetery. Our heartfelt thanks go to Dr. Paul Murphy for his care and compassion during the past many years. Born in Calgary, Curtis was the son of Jack Fielding and Norine Westwood. Curtis was happiest when he was repairing old vehicles which most would have written off as junk. From an early age he could be found helping his dad in the back yard garage. He was a personable young man who was more than willing to carry on a conversation with anyone who would listen, always with a sense of humour. Like most older brothers, Curtis was an expert at teasing Jenna. He was also her fiercest defender. To his mom, he was the most loyal and affectionate son. Along with his parents, Curtis is survived by his sister, Jenna; grandparents, Derek and Patricia Fielding, Ontario. He will be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Curtis was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Aubrey and Mamie Westwood, his aunt, Eva Tracey and cousin, Sarah Westwood. Visitation will be held Sunday, Sept. 1 from 2- 4 p. m. at V. J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. Cremation will follow. A funeral service will take place Monday, Sept. 2 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Fr.
