There he was a sergeant in the Royal Canadian Navy, where he taught many students the intricacies of aircraft mechanics. Don was an expert marksman, winning many related awards, including the Nova Scotia Governor's award when he was 17 years of age. Another interest Don excelled in was the sport of competitive darts. As an avid enthusiast, over the years he won many championships in this sport. Don was predeceased by his loving parents, Roy and Vivian Burke; maternal grandparents, Margaret and Donald Morrison, paternal grandparents, James and Sarah Burke, all of Sydney. Don is survived and will be missed by his sons, Donald and Roy; grandson, Connor, all of Dartmouth; nieces, Vivian and Ava, Sydney.
