Hello over the past few years I have built a very large file on the Gillis, MacLellan, and MacDonnell familes. containing over 11,000 names, mostly Margaree and the surrounding areas. I would be interested in collaborating with others researching these families and would also be interested in helping anyone who may have be stuck or confused or unsure with so many of the same names floating around. My goal is to eventually have every Gillis, MacLellan and MacDonnell from the vital stats databases and census records connected to the proper families. I have also completed much research about how many of these families were connected before coming to North America and have been able to pinpoint the exact townships in Scotland from which some of these families originated from.Glad to helpJ.R.
