A special anniversary mass at the Whitney Pier church will be held at 9:30 a.m. with Bishop Brian Dunn as celebrant and homilist. Lt.-Gov. J.J. Grant will deliver greetings on behalf of the people of the province. Following the mass, there will be an informal outdoor reception and meet-and-greet. From 12-5 p.m., also on Sunday, the 2013 Polish Festival will take place on the parish grounds. There will be Polish food, entertainment by the Pogoria Polish Folk Ensemble and the choir of St. Mary's Polish Church, children's games and prizes, tours of the heritage-designated church and more. Admission to the festival is free. An anniversary banquet will take place on Friday and it is soldout. St. Mary's Polish Parish has been marking its 100th anniversary this year through prayer, service projects, concerts and memorable special events, linking the generations and working with the broader community.
