WEST Friends of Rita Rachela (Cymbalista) West regretfully wish to let her Cape Breton community know of her passing on September 27th, 2013 in Clayton, Ontario. Rita and Tom came to River Denys Road in Judique in the early seventies to homestead the old MacMaster property. She leaves to mourn their one son, Nicholas, and grandson Nicholas Paul West; also her partner, Grant Harland, and her sisters, Sylvia and Florence. Rita was a bright and shining star to all who knew her. She was vivacious, charming, intelligent, and if you became her friend, she was your friend forever. She worked for several years with Eastern Counties Library, travelling the roads and bringing her smile to the many stops along the way. She also worked as librarian at Judique Creignish Consolidated, and when she moved to Ottawa, continued her library work. Her love of books was known to all, and she could also weave a wonderful tale herself. She loved to wander the country roads, enjoying all nature had to offer. She will be dearly missed. Funeral arrangements were entrusted into the care of C. R. Gamble Funeral Home and Chapel Inc. To view full obituary and leave messages of condolence visit the website: www.crgamble.com.
