'Allie' Morrison - 72 yrs Mary 'Sara' MacNeil Born In: Barra Glen Victoria County Passed in: Sydney/Shenacadie Passed on: November 28th, 2013 The family regrets to announce the passing of Mary 'Sara' MacNeil, 103, on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013, at Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility. Born in Barra Glen, Victoria County, she was the daughter of the late Stephen S. 'Dunn' and Catherine (MacNeil) MacNeil. Sara was a former resident of Shenacadie and later moved to Sydney where she lived for many years and worked at Eastern Bakeries prior to her marriage. She was a member of St. Barra parish, Christmas Island, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward 'Eddy' MacNeil, three brothers, Stephen J., Alex B., and Patrick in infancy, also four sisters, Mary Campbell, Catherine MacKinnon, Kitty MacDonald and Cassie MacKinnon. Visitation will be held 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral mass at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 2 at St. Barra Church, Christmas Island, with Rev. Joe MacNeil officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Vera Kathleen 'Kaye' Douglas Passed in: North Shore, Canada Passed on: November 27th, 2013 Vera Kathleen 'Kaye' Douglas, a longtime resident of Rossland, B.C., and most recently of North Shore in Cape Breton, N.S., passed away peacefully in hospital in Baddeck N.S. on Nov. 27, 2013 at the age of 87. She is survived by her son, Gordon; brother, Clarence Blair (Doris); niece, Karen (Bruce) and nephew, Dale (Lynne); sister-in-law, Rachel Wellock and her family Louise (Robert) and sister-in-law, Helen Smith. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, James Douglas. By request, there will be no visitation or service. MacAskill Funeral Home of Baddeck is entrusted with the arrangements. Alexander 'Allie' Morrison Passed in: London, Ontario, Canada Passed on: November 25th, 2013 It is with great sadness that we, his family, announce his passing at the Victoria Hospital, London, Ont. on Monday, November 25, 2013. He was the son of Annie (MacDonald) Morrison, Hornes Road and the late John Morrison. Loving father of Louise (Scott) Silverthorne and Lynn (Chris) Foerter; proud grandfather of Trevor and Rhiannon Silverthorne and Connor, Cameron and Mason Foerter. Also survived by brothers, Ross (Helen), Calvin (Christine) and Gary (Ruth); sisters, Beth (Bob) Peters, Kit, Rilla (Gary) Krawchuk and Gail (Greg) Graham; and several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Union Presbyterian Church, Albert Bridge on Monday, December 2 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Lydia MacKinnon officiating.
