Born in Sydney, she was a daughter of the late William and Lillian (Purdy) Taylor. She worked for the Cape Breton Post and after moving to New Glasgow, worked as an Activity Planner with the Dept. of Social Services. After retiring, she worked in the family business, W.D.J. MacDonald Agencies. She was a member of Trinity United Church, the U.C.W., and was a former Sunday school teacher and Messenger leader. She is survived by her husband, William D.J.; son: Glenn; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers Russell, Gerald and William; sister, Anne MacDonald. Visitation is 7-9 p.m. Monday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service 2 p.m. Tuesday in Trinity United Church with Rev. Dr. Jim Shaffner officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of choice.
