Hull Born In: Glace Bay Passed in: Sydney Mines Passed on: November 5th, 2013 The family of Lloyd George Hull, announce his passing on Nov. 5, 2013, at the Northside General Hospital, at the age of 94. He was a resident of the Harbour View Veterans hospital in Sydney Mines. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Grover and May (Morrison) Hull. Lloyd was a member of the Clyde Avenue Baptist Church, Sydney Mines. He had served as deacon and was active in the choir for many years. In his early years, Lloyd ran the Homestead Baptist Camp with his wife Charlotte. He was a veteran of the Second World War serving overseas with the Canadian Army. Lloyd was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 8, Sydney Mines. He worked for Angel manufacturing in North Sydney before retiring in 1984. He is survived by daughters, Maureen Hull (David Harding), Grace (Rand) Hanney and Kathleen Hull; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Hull; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Bill MacPherson; grandchildren, Amy Harding (David Von Loewenfeldt), Moira Harding, Christopher Hanney (Kristen Cornelson) and Ryan Hanney. He is also survived by three nieces and one nephew. Besides his parents, Lloyd was predeceased by his wife, Charlotte May (nee Morrison) Hull, his son, David Hull, sister, Esther Bryden and brother, Alvin Hull. Visitation will take place on Thursday, Nov. 7 from 7-9 p.m. at Francis Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8 at the Clyde Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. David Hopper officiating. Interment to follow in Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney. Memorial donations in Lloyd's memory may be made to the Clyde Avenue Baptist Church or the War Amps Society. Edward William 'Billie' Livingstone Born In: Whycocomagh Passed in: Dartmouth Passed on: November 5th, 2013 Edward William 'Billie' Livingstone, 77, of Dartmouth passed away on Nov. 5, 2013, at the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Whycocomagh, he was a son of the late Mary Ellen (Buchanan) and Edward 'Eddie' Livingstone of Donkin, Cape Breton. As a young man he ventured from Cape Breton to pursue his first career with the RCAF as an airframe technician. After retiring from the military, he worked for over 25 years at IMP Aerospace. He was known for his mechanical expertise and could fix just about anything. An avid gardener, he had a passion for cooking, especially for a crowd. He will be remembered for his tea biscuits as well as his penchant for sharing stories of his life experiences. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Denise (Bergeron); daughters, Shirley (Troy) McLaughlin, Karen (Sasha Diakow) Livingstone; son, Michael (Shawna Marson); sister, Eleanor Thomas; brother John 'Jackie' (Kay); grandchildren, Jessica, Jalyn, Colby, Andrew and Charlotte; niece Lynette (John); nephews, John (Sherrie), Joe, and Chris (Amy) as well as his many nieces and nephews on his wife's side. Billie was predeceased by his first son Brian. Cremation has taken place. Mary Delorey Born In: Petit de Grat Passed in: Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Passed on: November 5th, 2013 Mary Clara Delorey, 86, of Halifax formerly of West Arichat, passed away suddenly at her home in Halifax on Nov. 5, 2013. Born in Petit de Grat, she was a daughter of the late Remi and May (Burns) Boudreau. Mary was the last surviving member of her family. She is survived by her daughters, Joan (Roddie) McMullen, Rosemond, Leanne Delorey; sons, Paul DesLauriers (Jennifer), Everett (Ann), Lloyd (Kim), Larry (Emily), Peter (Dawn), Dwaine (Susan) Delorey; 25 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Delorey; son, Lloyd in infancy; brothers, Remi, Francis, Melvin Boudreau; sister, Mildred Forgeron; half-sister, Mathilda Cormier; grandson, Christian Delorey in infancy. She was a homemaker who enjoyed doing for her family. Avid cribbage and bingo player. She loved to knit and make quilts. She enjoyed most her company and babies. There will be visitation taking place at Atlantic Funeral Home, Bayers Road, Halifax on Nov. 7, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. Visitation will also take place at C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home, Arichat on Nov. 8, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, West Arichat with Rev. Raymond 'Inta' McIsaac Passed on: November 5th, 2013 With many heavy hearts we announce the passing on Nov. 5, 2013, of an amazing storyteller and entertainer, Raymond "Inta" McIsaac, after a short and brave battle with cancer. Inta was the son of the late Allan and Mary-Ann (McIsaac) McIsaac of New Waterford. As a husband, father, poppy, brother and friend, Da truly enjoyed making others laugh with his unique sense of humour. In his presence, many eyes quickly filled with tears of laughter from his endearing stories of growing up in New Waterford with his loving brothers, sisters, and the endless friends of his childhood. Now, it is our turn to fill eyes of sorrow to those of laughter and joy in celebrating Da's wonderful life and to thank him for touching our lives as only Inta could. Da was a member of the former St. Agnes Parish, currently the Parish of St. Leonard. His career took him from the coal mines in New Waterford, to Round Tree's Chocolate factory in Toronto, and Highland Fisheries in Glace Bay. Da is survived by his wife, Olive (Ashe); son, Neil; daughter, Tanya (Bob) Roach; stepsons, Keith (Marlene) Pinkerton, John Pinkerton and David Pinkerton; brothers, Allie (Linda) and Joe; sisters, Gloria McNeil (Andrew) and Lorraine McNeil (Ray); brothers-in-law, Harold (Joan) Ashe, Collie (Bertha) Ashe, Eddie (Elaine) Ashe, Robert (Carol) Ashe, Brian (Edna) Ashe, Wayne (Beverly) Ashe; sisters-in-law, Donna Acker and Hazel Ford; grandchildren, Michael, William and Aaron Roach; William MacIsaac and his favourite granddaughter, Catherine MacIsaac; step-grandchildren, Carrie, David, Alisha, John, Brandon, Andrew, Danielle, and Kelly; 12 step-great-grandchildren; goddaughter, Karen MacDonald. Da was predeceased by his brothers, Angie, Alex and Archie; sister, Tootsie; sister-in-law, Dorothy Byrne and former wife and friend, Marilyn MacIsaac. At Da's request, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A funeral mass of celebration will take place Nov. 8, 2013 at 10 a.m. St. Leonard's Parish (former Mt. Carmel Parish), New Waterford. Lunch to follow at St. Leonard's Parish Hall Convent Street, New Waterford. In lieu of flowers, Donation can be made to the Cape Breton Cancer Center. Jackie McDougall Born In: Glace Bay Passed in: Wilmington Passed on: October 28th, 2013 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Jackie on Oct. 28, 2013, at the Wilmington Health Care Centre. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Vincent (Elizabeth) McVarish-McInnis, MacKay's Corner. Jackie and her husband moved to Massachusetts in 1951 making numerous trips back to Cape Breton over the years. She is survived by two sons, Gary and Blaise and was a loving Nan to four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Jo McInnis; brothers-in-law, Don Hollohan and Don McDonald. Predeceased by her husband, Stephen; four sisters, three brothers and a sister-in-law. Many thanks to friends, relatives and neighbours for remembering Jackie with mass cards and memorial donations.
