David was a life-member of Florence Branch 83 legion and a recipient of the MSM medal and the Palm Leaf. He was instrumental in starting the Thursday night bingo and the Sunday morning breakfast at the legion. A man always willing to try his hand at new things such as mining, the armed foreces, fishing, insurance and storekeeper in later years. He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Percy and Bernetta (nee Coakley), sister, Helen in childhood, brother, Kerry and son, Laurie. He is survived by the mother of his children, Elizabeth and sons, David (Tanya), Stephen (Michelle), Timothy (Barbara), Ken (Shannon), Jonathan (Jody) and daughter, Wanda (Dave); sisters, Bernice (Jack), Karen (Bill), Arlene (Ken); sister-in-law, Phyllis; grandchildren, Allan, Corey, Kevin, Keisha, Samantha, Erica, Kyle, Matthew, Victoria, Emily, Colton, Josh, Leah, Reese, Amber, Dylan, Jaden; great-granddaughter, Emily; and many nieces and nephews. With declining health in recent years, David was ready to move on. Let us hope he is smiling down on all of us and is now at peace and free of pain. Special thanks to staff at the Northside Guest Home for their care and comfort and special friends at Branch 83, Tremaine, Brian, Frankie, Danny, Ernie and Sid. At David's request there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Donations in David's memory can be made to the poppy fund at Branch 83 legion or a charity of choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of Francis Funeral Home.
