Mary Illich Born: August 8th, 1937 Passed on: November 13th, 2013 On November 13, at the Leisureworld Lawrence residence, Mary passed away peacefully. Her body decided that it had enough. She felt her late parents and siblings calling. She closed her eyes and, quietly in her sleep, left this earthly realm and joined them in the 'great beyond'. Mary was born August 8, 1937 in Scotchtown, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. It was there that she attended school, worked, and now leaves many friends. In the 1960's, after the death of her father (the late Peter Illich), she moved to Montreal, (and, many years later, Toronto) with her mother (the late Maria Juszko), to be close to her sister (the late Irene Illich Henry), her brother (the late Peter Illich), and their families. Mary's youngest brother, Julius Illich, had passed on in 1942. Mary leaves behind many nieces, nephews and their families. She will be missed with sadness by all. She had been an avid member of the Mycological Society of Toronto for many years, until she could no longer attend the forays in the search for new species of mushrooms. If anyone wishes to contact a family member, they can do so by sending an email to one of her nieces, Rosemary, at [email protected] and she will pass on any message. In remembrance, donations can be sent to the Alzheimer Society of Toronto. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Simple Alternative, 416-441-1580.
