Dolomont - 93 yrs Carol Lahey (Gushue) Born In: Sydney Passed in: Bellville Passed on: December 13th, 2013 A most wonderful, caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister, Carol passed away on Friday, December 13, 2013 at home in Bellville, Ont. after a lengthy illness. Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Dorothy (Whalen) Gushue, Sydney. She is survived by her three children Jim Jr., Sheena, and Darren (Penny) and by her precious grandchildren, Stephen, Isabel, Shophie and Evan Lahey. She is also survived by brothers Tom (Addie), Raymond, Terry and sisters Teresa (Joe Gale), Janette (the late Jack Fletcher), Marlene (John Dixon), Kim (Albert Harriet), Brenda (John Aucoin) and Dottie (Andrew MacNeil). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Jim Lahey; brothers Patrick, David and Robert and by sisters Florence Smiley, Linda Colbourne and Debbie Janes. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will take place at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bellville, Ont. on Tuesday, December 17, 2013. Donations in Carol's memory may be made to the Palliative Care Society. Georgina (Fowler) Neville 44, Petawawa/Glace Bay The funeral mass and visitation for Georgina (Fowler) Neville has been postponed and will be rescheduled and announced by the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, Glace Bay. Patriquin, P. Noreen Patriquin, P. Noreen, passed away peacefully at the Moncton City Hospital on Sunday, December 15, 2013, at the age of 85. Born in New Waterford, Nova Scotia, in 1928, she was the daughter of the late Allan and Mary Agnes (Gracie) Graham. She leaves to mourn her husband of 58 years, Jack, and daughter, Gail Hennessy (Shawn) of Maine, USA; two sisters, Emma Gillis and Dolena Simms, New Waterford, N.S.; and one brother, Bernard, Sparwood, B.C.; and sisters-in-law, Kay and Helen. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Brian; and brothers, Richard, William, Robert, Lester (Buddy), Charles and Douglas; and by sisters, Mary (Mayme) Dieltgens, Gertrude Graham and June Keefe. She leaves many nieces and nephews. Noreen was a former employee of Schwartz & Company, New Waterford, Nova Scotia, and T. E. Eaton Company, Halifax. She was also a member of the United Church Women of Mount Royal United Church, Moncton. She taught Sunday School and led the Explorers and C.G.I.T. groups for many years. In keeping with Noreen's wishes, there will be no visitation. A memorial service celebrating Noreen's life will be held at Mount Royal United Church, 106 Mount Royal Boulevard, Moncton, on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 2 p.m. A reception will follow in the Church Hall. Interment will be in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens at a later date. Andrew George Keough Manitouwadge, Ont./Sydney, N.S. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Andrew George Keough. Andrew passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, at the age of 52. Andrew was born on Jan. 3, 1961 in Sydney, Nova Scotia, to Edith and Daniel Maurice Keough. Andrew moved to Manitouwadge in 1979 to work in the local mine, this is where he found the love of his life Catherine Pelletier. Catherine and Andrew were married in 1986. Andrew is survived by his wife, Catherine, and three sons, Bronson, Jordan and Nathan, along with all seven of his brothers and sisters, Kenny ( Janet), Fred (Cheryl), Danny, Richard, Shirley (Reg) Samson, Gloria (Paul) Norman and Catherina. Andrew was loved dearly by all of Catherine's brothers and sisters, Janet (Bob) Booren, Emily Pittfield, Brian (Elise), Nancy Esarte, Diane (Ron) Ford, Robert (Ronnie) and Andrea (Bruce) Fraser. He is survived by all his nephews and nieces on both sides of the family. Andrew was predeceased by his parents, Daniel Maurice Keough and Edith Marie Hawco, stepfather, Wilfred Hawco; brothers-in-law, Gordon Dalton and Eusebio Esarte, and nephew, Stephen Keough. Andrew ' Andy' was a devoted family man with a heart of gold. His favourite hobbies were golfing, fishing, hockey, coaching, baseball, and being around his family and friends. Over the years Andrew has made many friends and colleagues while working in the mining industry. His illustrious career spans over 30 years where he worked at Geco Noranda Mines, Newmont Golden Giant Mine, Barrick Williams and David Bell Mines, Manroc Developments Inc, Fortis Mining & Engineering, and most recently at the Barrick Williams Mine where he was the mine superintendent. Andrew was well respected by all that knew him. Friends called for visitation at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Manitouwadge, Ont., on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, from 7-9 p.m. A Resurrection Mass will be on Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, beginning at 11 a.m. also at Our Lady of Lourdes with Cremation to follow. Arrangements are entrusted to the King Funeral Home Ltd. of Schreiber. As expressions of sympathy and in memory of Andrew, donations can be made to the Manitouwadge Cancer Assistance Group or the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Mary L. Dolomont 93, North Sydney It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother and sister, Mary Lou ise Dolomont, 93, on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at her residence, My Cape Breton Home. Born in North Sydney, Mary was the daughter of the late Thomas and Catherine (Corcoran) Gale. In her early years she was a dedicated C.N.A. at Harbour View Hospital, Sydney Mines, and enjoyed nursing for many years until her retirement in 1982. She resided the last few years at My Cape Breton Home where she enjoyed spending time with the residents and staff, her bingo games and Wii bowling. She dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, North Sydney. She is survived by her daughter, Joan (Charlie) Jenkins, North Sydney; and her son, Bob (Lillian) Dolomont, Middleton, N.S.; her four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; her brother, Warren Gale, Stayer, Ontario, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John Joseph Dolomont, in 1981, her brothers, Arthur and Percy Gale, and her sisters, Sue Newman and Fran Williams. There will be no visitation by her request. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney.
