Ron was born in Amherst, Nova Scotia and was the son of the late Clarence and Anzelica Cormier. Ron graduated from St. Charles School and Amherst Regional High School where he was a popular student known to always pay attention in class but never took home a book and always had high marks. Ron's career took him into military service including graduation from the dental program at Dalhousie University. Ron served in several places including Queen Charlotte Islands in British Columbia. Ron served patients in Halifax, Cape Breton and Fisher Branch, Manitoba and taught at CBU Dental School. Music always was a big part of Ron's life. Singing and playing guitar and mandolin at home and at country festivals were at the top of his list of fun things to do. Ron sang in the St. Charles Church choir and was a member of the Church Scola quartet. The well-known music scene in Cape Breton was a treasure to Ron and he enjoyed being a participant in several groups notably "The Peach Chords". Left to remember him and mourn his passing are his wife, Cynthia; son, Scott (Melissa); grandson, Hunter and sisters, Louise Beal (Ralph), Marlene Cormier and fiancée (Paul); three nieces, Michelle, Susan and Catherine who brought a twinkle to Ron's eyes and many nephews, as well as his dear friends, Roy and Shauna Peach. Ron was predeceased by his former wife, Norma (MacAulay) parents, Clarence and Anzelica, his sister, Yvonne and brothers, Reginald, Ervil, Raymond and William, as well as family, many close friends in various provinces of Canada. Ron's family and friends would like to express their thanks to the staff at the Glace Bay Health Care Corp., Halifax Infirmary and the Nova Scotia Rehabilitation Center for the constant and excellent care he received. At Ron's request there will be no service. Cremation has taken place under the care and guidance of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, Glace Bay. Bradford Gerard 'Brad' MacIsaac Born In: New Waterford Passed in: New Waterford Passed on: December 23rd, 2013 It is with profound sadness, yet many fond memories, we announce the sudden passing of Brad McIsaac on Dec. 23, 2013, at his home in New Waterford. Born in New Waterford, he was a son of the late D.A. Spike and Eileen (Marsh) McIsaac. Brad was a member of Mount Carmel Church, currently the Parish Church of St. Leonard. In earlier years he was enlisted with the Army Medical Corps and later, studied to become a mortician in Boston, Mass. Upon returning, Brad worked underground as a medic with Devco. After years of employment with Devco, he left the mines to further his education. After completing his undergrad at UCCB, he attended Dalhousie University, where at the age of 49, he earned his law degree. Prior to being called to The Nova Scotia Bar, he articled with B.A. 'Rocky' Jones and Associates and upon completion was employed with his good friend, Rocky, in Halifax.
