Trying to find two first cousins both named James Quinn, both born in 1867 who were born in Little Bras d'Or and Sydney Mines area. James Quinn s/o Daniel and Ellen (Carey) Quinn born 1867 can be found in the 1871 Census Howley's Ferry under "Queen". He is age 4. In the 1881 Census Boulardarie he is 14 and under the Quinn name. James s/o John and Margaret (O'Brien) Quinn born Oct 1867 can be found in the 1871 Census Sydney Mines age 4. 1881 Census Sydney MInes he is 14. In the 1891 Census of Nova Scotia there is no James Quinn/Queen to be found who would be age 23/24. In all of Canada there are a few but they are born in the Province they are found on the Census. My question is "Where did these two young men go?". I am wondering if they went to the "Boston States". I do know that James s/o John and Margaret can be found in the 1901 Census Sydney Mines married to Annie Peck with four children, the first born 1895. This James died in Boston in 1938 and many of his children remained there. James the s/o Daniel and Ellen cannot be found .... or at least by myself nor can I find a marriage listed anywhere in NS for him. Any ideas or help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Thom
Like Thom, I would be most interested in any leads as to what may have happened to James Quinn, s/o Daniel Quinn and Ellen Carey. He seem to have disappeared after the 1881 Canada Census.
