    3. The 700 ton Barque Tamerlane departed Greenock Scotland on June 10, 1826 for Sydney. Arriving at Sydney late July, Early August of that year passengers with surnames such as Gillis, MacLellan, MacDonnell, MacDonald, MacEachern and MacDougall debarked at Sydney. Most of these people settled at SW Margaree or in the Mira Area. After making port at Sydney the Tamerlane continued on her way making port on August 4, 1826 at Quebec where another 55 Highland settlers debarked and settled at Glengarry Ontario. I am trying to put together a passenger list for the Tamerlane and would like to hear back from anyone whose ancestors landed in the year 1826. My hope is that I may be able to unravel possible family connections using the names of the ships passengers.RegardsJ.R. Reid
