Looking for information on the origins and parentage of James Gillis b 1812 Scotland and his wife Catherine MacDonald b 1818 Scotland. According to what I have James came to Canada in 1820 and his wife in 1826 possibly on board the Tamerlane. They lived in close proximity of Duncan M Gillis, Esq of Victoria Bridge.
