John 'Jack' Johnston Passed in: Sydney Passed on: February 12th, 2014 Jack passed away at Harbourstone in Sydney on Wednesday, February 12, 2014. For many years, Jack operated his own taxi service, spent some time in Princess Colliery and brought good humor wherever he travelled. A lifelong sports enthusiast, Jack loved “the ponies”, baseball and hockey but as much as he loved the Red Sox, he loathed the Yankees even more. A truly bright and witty man, Jack enlightened our dinner table (ten of us) with tales of pompous politicians, outrageous puns and hilarious anecdotes. Jack taught us how to drive and how to play the piano (he was great, we were awful). Jack was unique and we loved being around him. Good night John-boy. Jack is survived by brothers Murray, David (Elizabeth) and Ken (Janet) and many nieces and nephews. Jack was deceased by sister Audrey and brothers Byron, Eldon, Reid and Ronnie. Cremation has taken place. A special service for family members will be held in the Spring. Special thanks to Anita MacMullin whose years of caring and affection meant so much to her uncle
