Alden George LeLacheur Born In: Grandique Ferry Born: August 18th, 1932 Passed in: Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia, Canada Passed on: March 11th, 2014 Alden George LeLacheur passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at the age of 81 at home in Port Hawkesbury. Alden was born Aug.18, 1932, in Grandique Ferry, to the late John Robert and Rose Barbara (MacRae) LeLacheur. He lived most of his life in Lennox Passage until he moved to Port Hawkesbury in 1985. His various jobs took him throughout the provinces but home was always home. No matter where he was his heart was never far from the place he loved -- the water. If he was fishing smelt, cod or mackerel at the Causeway, he was always at peace by the water. He was all ready to tell you a story and he could really get you laughing – he could pass along some pretty tall tales. He is survived by brothers, Harold (Pauline Youst), Toronto, Gordon (Annie MacRae), Lennox Passage, Harry (Annabelle Keating), Lennox Passage; sisters, Emellean (Gordon) Rowe, Martinique and Edna (Alan) MacRae, Troy; and a very special buddy, Clyde Malcolm. He was predeceased by his life partner, Edna Skinner Mugford; sisters, Elizabeth (Alexander) Boucher, Ida (Thomas) Matthews, Barbara (Earl) LeLacheur, Joan (David) Ross; brothers, James (Laura Sampson), Robert (Barbara Nash), Gerald (Rose Fougere), Irving (Marie MacRae), Vincent (Flora MacRae) and a brother in infancy; sisters-in-law, Annie and Marie; brothers-in-law, Gordon, Alan, Alexander, Thomas, Earl and David. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews including three special nieces, Myrtle, Barbie and Darlene who cared for him as he prepared his journey to sail into the waiting arms of loved ones who went before him. We would also like to thank Dr. Collins, Dr. Pluta, Dr. Cooper, Nancy Cameron and all those associated with palliative care, home care and staff of Strait Richmond Hospital. Donations can be made to the cancer society, palliative care or the charity of choice. Burial to be held at a later date. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks
