Born in Reserve Mines on May 7, 1932, he was the son of the late Alexander and Drusella (MacPherson) Munroe. Roy was actively involved and enjoyed competing in card games, darts and bowling. He was very proud of his gardening, and was a willing community worker. Roy was always considerate, generous and reliable. Roy was employed for over 30 years at the Sydney Steel Plant. Roy is survived by his daughter, Sandra (Blair) Caume; special grandson, David Jones; step-grandson, Blair Caume Jr.; step-granddaughter, Debbie Petruk; sisters, Dorothy (Fred) Miles, Sydney, Shirley MacLellan, Reserve Mines; brothers, Gerald (Mary), Los Angeles, John (Sheliah), New Glasgow; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Roy was predeceased by Ruby Munroe (Jones) and brother-in-law, Stewart MacLellan. There will be no visitation, Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay. A memorial service will be held on April 17 2014, at 2 p.m. in Patten Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at a later date. Online condolences may be sent to family www.pattenfuneral.com. Gerald Doyle Passed in: Sydney Passed on: April 3rd, 2014 We, the family of Gerald Doyle, regret to announce his passing on April 3, 2014 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, after a long courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his sons, Ben, Ontario, Jerry, Ontario; mother, Jenn Boutilier Doyle; brothers, Joe and Kevin; stepbrother, Scott, all of Ontario; sister, Mary, Saint Catharines, Ont.; aunts, Theresa and Kay Boutilier; nephews, nieces and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Leo Doyle and brother, Leo. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. There will be a private service at a later date.
