Born in Grand Etang, she was a daughter of the late Denis à Gabriel and Minnie (LeFort) Aucoin. Therese enjoyed her rug hooking, visiting the Foyer Père Fiset, and spending time with the residents. She loved her time spent with family especially her grandchildren Christopher and Casey. She loved children and had a special place in her heart for the lab dog Marley. Therese always prayed for those suffering. She always looked forward to spending time with her friends and making new ones along the way. She is survived by her husband Henrie D. Poirier; son Daniel Joseph Porier "Danny"; daughter Marie Bernice Burns; brothers Clifford Aucoin, Leonard Aucoin, Bernie Aucoin, and Gordon Aucoin; sister Velma Bourgeois; and grandchildren Christopher Aaron Burns and Casey Trevor Burns. She was predeceased by her brothers Alfred Aucoin, Eddie Aucoin, and Johnny Aucoin. The body was cremated. Funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, January 11th, at 3:00 p.m. in St. Peter's Church, Cheticamp. Burial in the parish cemetery. Donations may be made to Sacred Heart Community Health Centre. MacISAAC It is with sadness we announce the sudden passing of Joseph Adrian MacIsaac on January 3rd, 2017. Beloved son of the late Joe and Annie (Lennon) MacIsaac; cherished brother to Neil (Carmella), Inverness; and sisters Mary (Jim), London ON; Margie, Inverness; and Carol Ann, White Horse. Sadly missed by a number of nieces and nephews. Adrian was raised in Inverness and proudly served in Gagetown, Cyprus, and Ottawa in the Canadian Army. He spent 40 years in Calgary working for UIC and every Cape Bretoner who passed through connected with him. Adrian got great pleasure from playing cards, reading, and participating in Legion affairs. Since coming back home he enjoyed spending time with old friends, especially with Andrew and touring around with Sandy. Visitation was held in the Inverness Funeral Home on Sunday, January 8th, 2017. Funeral Mass was held on Monday, January 9th, 2017, in Stella Maris Church, Inverness with Fr. Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. DELANEY Lucy Mae Delaney, age 92 of Grand Etang, Inverness Co., passed away on January 4th, 2017, in Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Grand Etang, she was a daughter of the late John D. and Marie (LeBlanc) LeLièvre. Lucy Mae enjoyed a good game of cards. She enjoyed summer campfires with family by the ocean, going out to restaurants; cannot forget about barn parties at the old homestead where she was raised. Surviving are son Russell (Christine) Delaney, St. Catharines, ON; grandchildren Lindsay (Charlie), Justin (Jenny), Cameron (Nicole), and Alexander; great-grandchildren Declan, Quinn, and Odin; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husband Gerard Delaney; brothers Conrad LeLièvre and Lawrence LeLièvre; sisters Marie Helen Hines, Bertha Power, Bernadette Doucet, and Denathilde "Dyney" LeLièvre; and sister Jean Marie (Annie Belle). The body was cremated. Funeral Mass and burial will be at a later date in St. Joseph's Church, St.-Joseph-du-Moine (Summer 2017). Donations to Canadian Cancer Society. She is survived by brothers Leonard Cormier and Joseph Henri Cormier, both of Cheticamp. She was predeceased by brother Willie Joe; and sisters Marie Luce LeBlanc and Marie Evelyn Doiron.
