Born in Pictou, he was the son of the late Ronald and Agnes (MacDonald) Cheverie. Arthur was very proud of his 35 years as a friend of Bill W. He is survived by his sister, Mary Theresa and her family, Mass., as well as his several nieces and nephews. Arthur was predeceased by his sister, Clara and brother, Ronald Jr. We would like to thank the staff of the YMCA for your help during his time of need. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of… Theresa Ann Cameron Passed on: January 30th, 2017 Theresa Ann Cameron, 58, died peacefully on January 30, 2017 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, after a brief battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Michael ‘Mickey’ and Gladys (Thompson) MacInnis. Theresa was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was extremely proud of her grandchildren and loved spending time with them. She was a loyal and dedicated employee - starting her career at K-Mart, and continuing on at Canadian Tire for the last 20 years. Theresa also loved to crochet and bake- her shortbread cookies are legendary. She had a special place in her heart for her cats Iggy and Mookie. She is survived by her husband, Joe, her partner of 40 years and daughters, Sharon (Justin), Joanne (Jeff). She is also survived by grandchildren, Reid, Aaron, Joshua and Evelyn; siblings, Josephine (Ron), Charlie (Janice), Mary ‘Dee’, Frances (Paul), John (Milley), George, Mae (Gordie), Joe (Barbara); her aunt, Emily; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be missed dearly by her close and special friend, Deana and her loving Canadian Tire Family. Besides her parents, she is also predeceased by her mother and father-in-law, Edward ‘Teddy’ and Ada Cameron. ROBERT LEE HARNISH Born In: ST.PETER'S, Nova Scotia Born: December 16th, 1945 Passed in: SYDNEY, Nova Scotia Passed on: January 30th, 2017 Robert Lee Harnish, 71, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, January 30, 2017, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born December 16, 1945, in St. Peter’s, he was a son of the late Kitchener and Ida (MacRae) Harnish. For his entire career, Robert was employed at the accounting firm, MGM. He was a member of United Heritage Church, Sydney. Robert was also an avid golfer. He is survived by his loving wife, Rosena (Smith); sons, Shane (Shauna) and Chad; daughter, Tanya (Andy); grandchildren, Hannah, Austin and Hailey. He is also survived by his brother, Basil, Sydney; sisters, Ronola Stone, St. Peter’s, Bessie (Walter) Cullen, Florida, Shirley (Cliff) Brannan, Thunder Bay, Mary (Allan) Blois, Halifax, Carolyn (Frank) Jones, Sydney, Elsie MacLeod, Sydney, Sandra Murrin, Sydney and Lynn (Dennis) Barnhill, Truro; brothers-in-law, Buddy MacRae and Larry Hosanna. He will be greatly missed by many extended family members and friends. Robert was a hardworking man who loved his family and friends. Robert was predeceased by his brothers, Earl and William; sisters, Eileen MacRae and Rebecca Hosanna; brothers-in-law, Leo Stone and Jack MacLeod. Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at United Heritage Church on Friday 11 a.m., with Rev. Rosemary Godin officiating. Elizabeth “Betty” Marie O'Neil Born In: SYDNEY Born: May 18th, 1941 Passed on: January 30th, 2017 In the early morning of January 30, 2017, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Betty, gained her wings, leaving us with broken hearts and great sadness. Betty was born in Sydney on May 18, 1941. She was the daughter of the late Neil Stephen and Annie Mae MacLean. Betty was predeceased by her husband, Colin and her much loved and never forgotten son, Ronnie. She will be greatly missed by her family, Arlene, Stevie (Melinda), Cathy, Gary (Belinda), Linda (Claude) Coleman, Kelly (Karen). All her precious grandchildren, Courtney, Alisha Galloway, Leandra Barry, Krystian, Julian, Kendra O’Neil, Janna, Katelyn Bates, Logan, Luke, Lochlan O’Neil and Claudia Coleman, and her great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Wynn, Harper, Darcy, Liam and Shayla; her sisters, Ann (Bill) Daigle, Lexi (Gordie) Reid, Rose Dean, Eileen Williams and her brother, John (Karen). She was predeceased by her sister, Marie Steel and very special brother-in-law, Freeman Dean. She will be missed by her sisters and brothers-in-law and all her nieces and nephews. Betty has been blessed with a 2nd loving family at Harbourstone. She was very fortunate to be loved and to love all of the staff on Mira Bay. Thank you. Betty loved spending her summers on the Benacadie Mountain surrounded by her family and having many cups of tea. She had a very special relationship with all her aunts and uncles.
