Born in New Waterford on January 16, 1946, he was the son of the late Peter and Mary Elizabeth ‘Bessie’ (Dickson) Cook. He is survived by his son, Peter; granddaughters, Katrina and Amanda, Fort Lauderdale, Florida; sisters, Catherine (Bernard) Landry, River Bourgeois, Ruth Gaudet, Sydney, Betty Anne (Murry) Kirkpatrick, Colburn, ON; brother, Patrick (Paddy), New Waterford, Peter (Aleta), Hammond Plains, Bernard (Bernie), Sydney, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he is predeceased by sisters, Alice, Edith and Margaret; brother, James (Jimmy), also in infancy his siblings, John, David, Sheila and Patricia; brothers-in-law, Austin Gaudet and John Willie Fraser; sister-in-law, Donna (Dupe) Cook and Patricia MacDonald, mother of his son, Peter. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will take place Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Deacon Leo Penny officiating. Norma Phyllis Arsenault Born In: North River, Nova Scotia, Canada Born: August 13th, 1942 Passed in: Sydney, Nova Scotia Passed on: February 8th, 2017 It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear mother, Phyllis Arsenault at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on Wednesday, February 8, 2017. Born August 13, 1942 in North River, Cape Breton, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Josephine (MacKaskill) MacDonald. Phyllis was a loving and devoted mother, sister and grandmother, who was the fabric binding the family to what we all come to know as it is today. Her greatest love was her family. She loved to cook and bake for others and never missed an opportunity to host family occasions. We will surely miss our Rummoli nights. Phyllis is survived by son, David (Denise), Shad Bay; daughter, Susan (Paul) Spracklin, Oromocto; grandchildren, Kristopher and Brandon (Kayla) Spracklin, Kaleigh (Mitchell) and Matthew Arsenault; as well as many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. She is also survived by sister, Rachael (Bill) Bennett, Sydney; brothers, Harry, Toronto, Gillis (Lucy), Regina, Ken (Mary), Beeton; half-brother, Freddie (Pearl) MacDonald; half-sisters, Dorothy Keigan and Laura Shaw; sister-in-laws, Sandra and Yvonne; best friends, Roslyn Shea and Anita Currie and special niece and blueberry buddy, Judy. Tina Marie Paul It is with broken hearts that our family has to announce the sudden passing of our loved one, Tina Marie Paul, 46, of Membertou First Nation. Tina was the daughter of Laurie Ann Paul and Chief Terrance Paul (Tracey). Besides her parents those left to mourn are her sons, Jordon and Myles (Irene) Paul; daughter, Raven Paul and grandson, Lawrence Jordon Paul-Doucette; brothers, Jarrod, John (Pamela), Evan, Bradley, Carl, Shane, Leon Paul and Justin Johnson; sisters, Justine Paul and Julie Porter; godfather, Joseph Denny; godchild, Tom Brady Paul, as well as a large number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Tina was predeceased by her grandparents, Dr. Lawrence Fredrick Paul Sr., Ethel Cope-Paul, Philomena Paul, Phillip McEwan and Paul Isaac; godmother, Karen Paul-Denny; cousins, Brian Stephen Nevin and Wendy Ann Denny. Tina was an avid reader, she loved music and was a Boston sports fan. She was a certified paralegal and enjoyed photographing nature. She was an old soul who loved fashion and shopping. Her smile would light up a room. Tina’s deep faith helped her through her life journey. She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten. Visitation for Tina will begin after 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 14 at her residence, 118 Tupsi Drive, Membertou. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 16 at Our Lady of Fatima Church, with Rev. Bill Burke officiating. Burial in Membertou Memorial Gardens. Peter Vincent MacLean Born In: Toronto, Ontario, Canada Born: July 18th, 1938 Passed in: Baddeck, Nova Scotia Passed on: February 9th, 2017 It is will great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Peter Vincent MacLean, 78 of Wagmatcook. Peter passed away on February 9, 2017 at Victoria County Memorial Hospital. Born July 18, 1938 in Toronto, Ontario he was the son of the late Vincent J. and Pearl (Abbott) MacLean. Peter owned and operated MTM Signs in Toronto, Ontario for many years, after his retirement he returned to Wagmatcook. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved telling stories. Peter could be considered a frustrating man with his tell it how it is personality. He will be deeply missed and forever loved by those who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Yvonne Pierro; children, Anika Braithwaite, Steward Pierro, Jennifer Pierro, Miranda Pierro, Mandy Currell, Patty Stevens (Shawn), Bob (Rob) Carroll, Chris MacLean, Tammy MacLean, Sharon Carroll, Valerie Carroll, Linda Carroll and Debbie Carroll; grandchildren, Tapanga, Ayden, Jenika, Jacklynn, Kelly, Jennifer, Julliet, Cindy and Cassie, as well as great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. James William Macinnis Born In: Shenacadie , Nova Scotia, Canada Born: February 23rd, 1963 Passed in: Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada Passed on: February 3rd, 2017 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, father and grandfather James William (Billy) MacInnis son of the late John James and Irene (Gray) MacInnis formerly of Shenacadie on February 3,2017 in British Columbia.
