Born in New Waterford, he was the son of Brenda (Morgan) and the late Bernie Corbett. Ralph was a frequent dart player and known as a jack of all trades. He could fix anything he put his mind to. Ralph was proud to refer to himself as Mr. Mom and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his children. Ralph spent a significant portion of his life working construction in Ontario and in Alberta, prior to moving back to New Waterford and becoming the owner of Fatboy’s pizza. Ralph is survived his wife, Glenda (Campbell); daughter, Cynthia (Macio) Simcoe, and his sons, Quintin and Liam; grandchildren, Benjamin and Grace; stepfather, Sandy MacKenzie; brothers, Mike (Sharon), Scarborough, Bernie (Michelle), Albert Bridge, David (Nicole),Dominion, Corey(Becky),Fort McMurray; sister, Melissa (Ronnie), Fox Creek. He also has several nieces and nephews in which he shared a special bond. Besides his father, Ralph was predeceased by grandparents, Irene (Alonzo) Corbett and Margaret (George) Morgan. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Leonard’s Parish, Mount Carmel Avenue, with Fr. Norman McPhee presiding. Interment will be held in Mount Carmel Cemetery. Reception will follow in St. Leonard’s Hall on Convent Street, New Waterford. Donations in memory of Ralph may be made to the An Cala Palliative Care Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. God broke our heart to prove to us Ann Marie LeBlanc Born In: North Sydney, Nova Scotia Born: January 4th, 1951 Passed on: February 11th, 2017 On Saturday, February 11, 2017 Ann Marie LeBlanc, at the age of 66 years, filled her Bingo card and is now playing a Heavenly game. Born in North Sydney, on January 4, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Maurice Rose and Cecilia Woodfine. Ann Marie will be missed by her four daughters, Cheryl (Bernie), Kim (Adam), Brenda (Sheldon) and Marianne (Jimmy); five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four brothers and one sister. Visitation for the late Ann Marie LeBlanc will be held 2-4 on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Fillmore & Whitman Funeral Home, 10 Clyde Ave, Sydney Mines. Funeral Service will immediately follow at 4 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Celebrant Andrew Chapman officiating. Interment will follow at a later date. Curtis Passed on: January 31st, 2017 It is with deep regret that we, the family announce the sudden passing of William ‘Bill’ Curtis at home on January 31, 2017. Born and raised in Ingonish Beach, he was the son of the late Florence (Williams) and William ‘Willie’ Curtis. Bill enjoyed going for walks to Middle Head. He is survived by his wife, Susan (Pushie) Curtis, Glace Bay; his daughter, Nicole, Halifax and many cousins. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral service. John Joseph Sandluck John Joseph Sandluck, 80, of Mill Creek, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017, at the Northside General Hospital. Born in Wroxton, Saskatchewan on February 26, 1936, he was the son of the late James and Evelyn Sandluck. He operated a cranberry farm in Arichat for many years, before moving to Mill Creek in 1989. Surviving are sons, Derrick (Marilyn), MacPherson’s Mills, Bruce (Huguette), Whitehorse, Chris (Michelle, Tristan, Theo and Taja), Mississauga. He was a beloved Gido to his grandchildren, Caitlyn, Breanna, Allie and Hunter; siblings, Norman (Margaret), Georgetown, Alma (John) Artemenko, Mississauga; brothers-in-law, Marvin Kells, Joseph Marsh and Melvin Marsh. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Thelma (Marsh); brothers, Gordon and Edd; sister, Sonya Kells; sisters-in-law, Ellen, Elvina, Doris, Evangeline and Margaret and brothers-in-law, Ambrose, Ivan and Walter. The Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Bras d’Or, with Fr. Peter McLeod officiating. A family committal service will be held at a later date.
