Brian Snow It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, Brian Roderick Snow. Born August 25, 1955, he was the son of the late Myrna and Earl Snow of North Sydney. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather and was always there to lend a helping hand to his children both grown and those at home. Brian was a solid rock and one who had built his life upon the solid rock, Christ Jesus. He was a man of few words but those words usually carried wisdom and made a positive impact. Brian had a strong faith and was a devoted member of the Cape Breton Christian Fellowship church and was active in various capacities over the years. He was a valued member of the men’s Fellowship group. For many years prior to their closing, Brian was the production manager at Highland Fisheries in Glace Bay. He also managed a community supplies store in Nunavut and worked as a long haul trucker and courier driver. Brian was an avid curler for many years and loved to golf, especially with Alderdale where he played too many rounds to count, scoring a hole in one in 2013. He enjoyed going to Screaming Eagles games when the opportunity arose and he was a Toronto Maple Leafs fan at heart. Brian is survived by his loving wife, Joan (Warr); his wonderful children, Tracey (Chris) (Vander Heyden), Ottawa, Victoria, Halifax, Justin and Kristen at home; his precious grandchildren, Ethan, Brooke and William Vander Heyden. Also left to mourn are his brothers, Alan (Judy), North Sydney, and David (Nancy), Moncton, special Aunt Lois MacLeod, Donkin; the extended Warr family, as well as a number of nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his mother and father-in-law, Bertha and Norman Warr. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Friday, February 17, 2017 from 6-9 p.m. at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra Street, Sydney. A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Bruce DeYoung and Pastor Kevin Mattatal officiating. Reception to follow.
