Anne was born in Tilton Newfoundland September 21st, 1925 to Mary and John Joseph Fitzgerald. Anne was one of five children who grew up in a very loving Irish Family - as a result we were the beneficiaries of many stories of growing up in Newfoundland. In 1945 Anne met her life partner and love of her life, Reginald Reynolds marrying in 1948 then immigrated to Cape Breton to raise their family. Anne was a long and valued employee of Sears Canada, a CWL member for 50+ years with St Theresa’s Parish in Ashby, a Girl Guide leader, a volunteer extraordinaire and a lady who was never without a smile or a kind word. True to her Irish roots Anne spent countless hours supporting the Irish in Cape Breton with the Irish Benevolent Society. Mom not only raised her own five children, but helped nurture and entertain a lot of the Cabot Street Family – with trips to the beach, fishing, picking apples, swimming, picking up at various dances and activities around Sydney. Anne was predeceased by our loving father, Reginald in 1987; a brother, Jerry, in infancy; her younger brother, John (Jack) Fitzgerald and son-in-law, Jon Clipperton. Left to mourn Anne’s incredible life are her children, Edward (Patsy), Marie Clipperton, Regina Doherty, Debbie Young (Tom), Kelly Lawrence (Orville); grandchildren, Shawn Reynolds (Melanie), Neil Reynolds (Simone), Ryan Reynolds (Shannon), Deanne Clipperton (Todd Smith), Donald Clipperton (Martha), Rhiannon Doherty, Tara Doherty (Geoff Hubley), Meaghen Heupel (David), Joel Young (Vickie), Shannon Young (Andrew), RJ Lawrence, Olivia Lawrence and Julia Lawrence; great grandchildren, Regan, Ciaryn, Nolan, Jaidyn, Madisyn, McKenzie, Graydon, Elliott, Mason, Dawson and Lexi. Also left to mourn are Mom’s siblings, Michael Fitzgerald, Ron Fitzgerald (Barb), Marie Hogan (Leo), as well as the Reynolds family - Pat Reynolds, (Sandra), Sadie Manship, Mamie Yetman, Theresa Reynolds and Nora Reynolds and countless nieces and nephews who fondly remember ‘Aunt Anne’ with warmth in their heart and a smile. Arrangements are under the guidance of T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel in Sydney.
