They loved spending time out on the Mira River, hosting lively gatherings, cooking and baking and feeding everyone, vacationing in Ingonish, Inverness, PEI, Mexico and a trip of a lifetime to Ireland. As well California, New Hampshire, New York and of course Maine, where John and Edna lived for several years when they were first married. Later in life, they would drive around Cape Breton for an ice cream and enjoyed stopping at the Cedar House for a large piece of pie. We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention that she loved shopping at Value Village which was very evident when she’d show her newly acquired purchases. It was also important when calling Mom to be cognizant of when Coronation Street was coming on as to not interrupt. This was one of her and Dad’s favorite shows. Her smile will be remembered forever in our hearts. Enda worked for over 30 years at St Rita’s hospital in the school of nursing and finished her career at the newly built Cape Breton Regional Hospital. She loved helping people and could not go anywhere without knowing a friendly face.
