Halifax Herald April 26, 1967 Joseph Porrier, 73, of 243 Pleasant Street, North Woodside, died at his home yesterday. Born in Cheticamp, he was a resident of Woodside for the past 47 years. Having served in both world wars, Mr. Porrier was a member of Canadian Legion branch 31. He was employed at the Nova Scotia Hospital for 39 years retiring sometime ago. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth; seven daughters, Pearl (Mrs. Roger Burgoyne), New Brunswick; Glenis (Mrs. John Mazmanian), Eastern Passage; Dorothy (Mrs. Noel Westall), Halifax; Margaret (Mrs. Medard Soucy), Quebec; Helen (Mrs. Francis Meagher), Shirley (Mrs. Watson Osborne), both of Eastern Passage; Janet (Mrs. Raymond MacCulloch), at home; one son, Joseph, Dartmouth; and 24 grandchildren. The body is at the Dartmouth Funeral Home, Queen Street. Funeral will be held in time for 9 a.m. mass Friday in the Immaculate Conception Church, Woodside, with Msgr. .
