Halifax Herald October 28, 1966 DEEP BROOK - Mary Maude (Gillan) Shaw, 93, widow of Edwin E. Shaw, died yesterday. She was born in Saint John, a daughter of the late William and Florence Gillan. She spent many years in Sydney and for the last 10 years, lived with her daughter Marjorie (Mrs. L.L. Snell), Deep Brook. Two sons, including Dr. R.E. Shaw, are dead. Mrs. Shaw was the last surviving member of her immediate family, and was a member of the Old Methodist Church, which has since become the United Church of Canada. Surviving besides her daughter, is one son, Fred, Sydney; seven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
