Halifax Herald August 8, 1963 SYDNEY - John Landry, a well-known coal hauler, died Tuesday at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence MacDonald, 58 Atlantic Street. Born at L'Ardoise, Mr. Landry lived on Hardwood Hill for the past 55 years. Twice married, he is survived by his second wife, Emeliat, five sons, Robert, Halifax; Louis, James, George and Bernard, all of Sydney; three daughters, Marjorie (Mrs. L.J. Reitzel), Kitchener, Ont., Mary (Mrs. James Leonard), Sydney and Norma (Mrs. Clarence MacDonald), Sydney. Mr. Landry's first wife, Mary Jane Landry, died in 1948. He was a member of St. Theresa's Church. The body is at the T.W. Curry Funeral Home where funeral will be Friday.
